Family Owned and Operated

Serving the Lehigh Valley's Renovations Needs Since 1989.

A family owned and operated business since 1989, S&D Renovations has always taken pride in making our clients’ visions reality. Our clients receive the finest personalized service throughout the entire renovation process from the initial stages of design through the completion of the construction process.

With S&D Renovations, our customers are not just numbers. From the beginning, we establish working lines of communication between our team members and the customer. This includes our personal cell phone numbers to use after hours so we can address any concerns immediately. It is our goal to make sure our customers are always comfortable and up to date with each stage of their project.

Why Choose a Remodeler over a Builder?

This is an important distinction when considering your home renovation project. S&D Renovations is not a home builder turned remodeler because of the present economy or business trends. We do not subcontract all phases of your project, nor do we bid out any phase of your project simply to the lowest bidder. Instead, we team up with specialists in various trades who, in most cases, we have used for years and who have earned our respect based on their reliability, professionalism and trustworthiness. Having been exclusively in the business of remodeling since 1989, S&D Renovations is used to the difficulties faced during a remodeling or general contractor project and every member of our design / build team is experienced in making sure the end product blends well with the existing house. Building onto an existing structure presents numerous challenges that are relatively unfamiliar to builders used to starting a project from scratch. Not only is this important to the success of and timing of the job, but it is important when considering the home’s increase in value after a renovation project.

Exclusively in the business of remodeling since 1989.

Why Choose Us?

Our clients choose us for our experience, skill, knowledge, and dedication. With a staff you can trust, you’re always getting courteous, responsible, and flexible service. We not only give you a livable space to enjoy, but we create a show piece that features your style and aesthetic.

We understand your concerns for the appearance of your home during the building process. Our employees share these concerns and take pride in their work space. We do everything possible to minimize interference with your living area and your neighborhood during construction. We offer flexibility throughout every project, and staff you can trust. Our staff is always courteous and respectful of your home and family including your pets.

2008 Big 50 National Award

S&D Renovations Honored with Remodeling's Big 50 National Award

S&D Renovations, Inc. has been selected by REMODELING magazine as a winner of the 2008 Big50 Award. The Big50 awards were presented at a gala dinner at the Remodeling Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. on May 5, 2008. Winning companies are featured in the May issue of REMODELING magazine. Each year, REMODELING magazine inducts 50 companies from across the nation who have set the standard for professionalism and integrity through smart marketing, exemplary business practices, unique design, and extraordinary impact in their community or the industry at large. Big50 remodelers run successful, often growing, companies of various sizes that have taken the lead in raising industry standards. REMODELING editors, columnists, industry leaders, and the companies themselves make the nominations each year. Following a lengthy evaluation process – which includes interviewing people at the nominated companies, and often interviewing their competitors, suppliers, and subcontractors – REMODELING’S editors select the 50 remodelers who exemplify the very best of the industry that year, and who have something to offer other remodelers in proven practices. We are honored to have been chosen to receive this award and are thankful to all who have contributed to our success.

U. S. EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm

Beginning in April 2010, federal law will require that contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be certified in the new EPA Renovation, Repair & Painting Rule (RRP) and follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination.

S&D Renovations is pleased to announce that we have received certification from the Unites States Environmental Protection Agency as an EPA Certified Lead-Safe Firm.

The new rule governing Lead-safe practices takes effect on April 22, 2010.

Kitchens That Inspire

Two kitchen renovations done by S&D were recently featured in the September Issue of Lehigh Valley Style Magazine

S&D Renovations Featured on HGTV's "Save My Bath" "Leaving the 70's Behind" Episode Highlights the Colaiezzi Family Bath Renovation

This fascinating renovation project began with the encouragement of a friend of the Colaiezzi family – an avid HGTV fan. Wishing to renovate many aspects of their new home, Sharon & Stephen Colaiezzi of Emmaus found humor in their “hideously outdated” bathroom, no doubt a “hot” leftover from the 1970’s with its Pepto Bismol colored vanity, wall of mirrors, pale pink sunken Jacuzzi and “modern” pink toilet. Stephen Colaiezzi was able to capture the “beauty” of their humorously outdated bathroom in his HGTV application to win a spot on an episode of “Save My Bath.”

The Colaiezzis were encouraged to select their own remodeler in the area – and, having had a positive previous experience with S&D Renovations, they gave Steve Dormann a call. S&D Renovations was enthusiastic about tackling the job. After winning the HGTV contest on “Ugliest Bath in the Tri-State Area,” the Colaiezzis went through a long process of interviews and meetings until the project was finally approved and film crews arrived. The show producers emphasized that the focus of the project was to “have fun”! And, according to Sharon, it lived up to its hype! The design of the new bath was almost entirely decided by HGTV who aimed to showcase new pieces throughout the room. While Sharon acknowledges the project required an unbelievable amount of work and patience by all who participated, now that the dust has cleared, she has no regrets. She is grateful to all who dedicated so much of their time to complete the project on schedule.

S&D Renovations would like to thank the Colaiezzi family for sharing this exciting project with us. We’d also like to express our continued appreciation to our S&D employees who worked very long hours to get the job completed on time as well as our subcontractors who donated their time to help out with the show. Specifically, thanks go to Steve Nixon of Abbey Plumbing, Mark Appleby of Appleby Electric, Scott Snyder of Cool Breeze HVAC, and Rocco Perugini of Perugini Tile.
